First, I passed out…
in a public parking lot. And an ambulance was called. That was a first for me, and so incredibly embarrassing, because this randomly feeling faint and going to ground is nothing new for me. I’ve had these spells since I was a teenager. My blood pressure takes a dive and down I go. No big deal, yeah? As long as it happens in private, that is. I always recover pretty quickly. No it’s not fun, because I get incredibly nauseous and gross, but I recover. And, as it turns out, the ER staff found nothing wrong with me (as I anticipated, but hey, my family was scared, and insisted. I’d have done the same in their place.)
The really cool thing about this was I met three really neat young people, all EMT’s, all extremely professional AND personable, and they introduced themselves. The young woman was studying medicine (and rethinking that but that’s a different story.) One young man was studying to become a paramedic, and rethinking that, too. And the third young man was their driver. I never got a clear look at him, but he had this drawl-y dry tone of voice that caught my attention. And how they introduced themselves was the true kicker. The med student gave me her name (It will show up in my book!) The paramedic student introduced himself as The Necromancer. And the driver? He called himself Bad News Bear.
OMG. This is writing gold! Honestly, the entire mess was worth these three. Wait until you meet them in the next installment in my series, the Lunatics! New main characters (I’m bringing Haoran back in MMC role) and a new FMC: Kelli, Kellas’ baby sister, who Kellas calls Miss Hiss and Spit, because this wee Cait Sidhe is anything but domesticated.
Stay tuned!
